My Virtual Assistant celebrates 17 years in business!

Photo explanation:  It wasn’t easy convincing ChatGPT to give me 17 fingers, but after a bit of trial and error, it got there eventually!

Seventeen years ago, virtual assistants in New Zealand were a rare find.

Fast forward to today, and we’re a thriving, trusted part of the business landscape, handling everything from admin, marketing, and strategy, to websites, bookkeeping, and events… and more!

These days, Virtual Assistants are an essential part of running a smart, efficient business. It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come, and even more exciting to think about what’s next!

For me, it’s mostly been 17 years of building websites and helping amazing people and businesses secure their online space.

When I started out, web development was very different. Everything was manually coded, and I spent hours troubleshooting so many tiny details.

Over the years, website platforms have evolved, becoming more sophisticated.

Although some things haven’t changed at all. The fundamentals, like speed and user experience, still matter more than any design trend. A website that is intuitive and performs well will never go out of style.

Having a website isn’t a ‘set it and forget it’ project.

It’s a living, breathing asset that grows with your business. SEO, content, and functionality all need regular attention, otherwise your site becomes a time capsule rather than an effective tool for growth.

The most important thing I’ve learned is that websites are about people. Not just the people visiting the site, but the people behind the business.

I’ve had the privilege of turning initial web presences into revenue-generating platforms, focusing on what really matters.

A website is ultimately about creating value for both the business and the people who visit it, and a beautiful design is nothing without thoughtfully written copy and clear, relevant images.

I feel incredibly thankful for my journey as a Virtual Assistant and working in the world of website creation.

I am beyond grateful to every client who trusted me with their vision, for every project that challenged me to think bigger, and for every website that continues to evolve long after launch.

I am super-proud that My Virtual Assistant has maintained its place in the New Zealand Virtual Assistant industry, and I'm privileged to work with and help to support so many amazing businesses.

So, here’s to 17 years of learning, creating, connecting, and evolving, and I’m looking forward to many more years of helping businesses shine online!
