I've been building websites since 2009. That's more than 150 sites launched (I’ve lost count of the actual number), and every one of them has gone through a review stage where the client asks for a few refinements.
Sometimes it’s a colour change tweak. Sometimes, a few text edits need to be made. Maybe there’s a photo or two to be replaced. It’s all part of the website design process.
But recently, something amazing happened.
I built two websites – one for a charitable trust and one for a childcare business.
I sent both website drafts through for review, and here's the amazing thing - neither client asked for a single change. Not even one!
I’m still picking my jaw up off the floor.
Let me tell you a bit about them:
The Southern Stars Charitable Trust website was a dream project. The General Manager gave me free rein, with no strict guidelines. Just a clear purpose for a great cause. I created a site that is simple and easy to navigate, and they loved it. First go.
The second site, for Beachcomber Early Learning Centre, was a little different. I built a website a few years ago for their partner centre, so this one needed to match, but not too closely. It had to have its own identity, while still feeling like part of the same family. A little tricky, but somehow, I nailed it!
When each client came back and said, “Looks great, let’s go live”, I nearly fell off my chair!
At My Virtual Assistant, I always expect a round (or three!) of feedback. It’s totally normal.
And that’s what makes this so special.
It’s extremely rare to go straight from draft to done – it’s a first for me - and it happened twice!
I’m not saying it’ll happen again anytime soon… but I’m definitely celebrating this little win.
If you need a website that’s just right for your business (and who knows, it might even turn out perfect on the first go!), I’d love to chat.
