Gastro-intestinal (GI) cancer is a broad term used to encompass cancers of the digestive system: the oesophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas and bowel. It is collectively the most common form of cancer in New Zealand.
Each year nearly 5,000 New Zealanders are diagnosed with a GI cancer; half of these people will die within five years of diagnosis.
Yet despite being the most prevalent form of cancer, it is under-represented in funding and awareness.
My Virtual Assistant is very proud to be a sponsor of 'Raise It' for Hilz.
Wow! What a privilege and a pleasure for My Virtual Assistant to be on the VIP table for The Lounge's amazing 'Raise It For Hilz' fundraising luncheon.
We not only sat with incredibly interesting people, we were also treated to outstanding service and enjoyed every mouthful of our SIX-course lunch, with fabulous wines to match each course.
I even discovered a new, delicious chardonnay (Babich Irongate 2013), which has now been added to my list of faves!
Silent auction, raffles, laughter, tears, music, dancing, and excellent conversation, made for a fabulous Sunday afternoon, in a gorgeous venue, full of big-hearted people.
And to top it off, the final amount raised for Gastro Intestinal Cancer Research was a mind-blowing $23,600!
Fundraising event for gastro-intestinal cancer, 'Raise It' for Hilz, was held on Sunday 23 August 2015, at The Lounge, 186 Wellington Street, Howick, Auckland.
My Virtual Assistant took care of the website and various social media for this very worthy cause.
