Wow! What a privilege and a pleasure to be on the VIP table for The Lounge's amazing 'Raising It For Hilz' fundraising luncheon, held on Sunday 23 August.
We not only sat with incredibly interesting people, we were treated to outstanding service and enjoyed every mouthful of our SIX course lunch, with fabulous wines to match each course. I even discovered a new, delicious chardonnay (Babich Irongate 2013), which has now been added to my list of faves!
Auctions, raffles, laughter, tears, music, dancing and excellent conversation, made for a fabulous Sunday afternoon, in a gorgeous venue, full of big-hearted people.
And to top it off, the final amount raised for Gastro Intestinal Cancer Research was a mind-blowing $23,600!

I am also pleased to say that none of our group members resigned while I was a facilitator (phew!), and in fact, we even managed to increase numbers by one!
I guess I can't take all the credit though. The ladies we have in our group are all extremely friendly, exhude confidence, are very good at what they do, and many have reached incredible goals, such as, featuring in magazines, appearing on television, winning awards within their industry, and so on. I also had the help of Bernadette - my wonderful and bubbly assistant - plus, we are fortunate enough to hold our meetings in what I reckon has got to be one of the best and most unique venues in the country (The Lounge).
Congratulations to Sue and Dianne who are taking over the reigns as our new meeting facilitators, and I hope you have as much fun as I did. Remember, if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger. Oh, and if all else fails - bribe them with cake!
Dear old Logo,
You have been wonderful to me over the last six and a half years. You've been there for me right from the start and I truly appreciate all the loyalty and support you have given me over the years.
We've had some really great times together, some good laughs, really fun moments and lots of shared memories. But something’s missing. We both know it. Our time together is coming to an end and I know you understand. There are only a couple of days left before we go our separate ways. I have been procrastinating for a long while and putting it off for as long as I can, however, things just aren’t the same as they used to be.
I admire you for the sense of confidence and self esteem you have given me. You were there for me as I grew and we took on the world together. Thank you for sharing this journey with me
I hope we can still be friends. I will never forget you and you will always hold a special place in my heart.
